Fresh Off the Frame

Pansies and Wedding Rings

This past week my studio has been filled with sweet quilts.  I’ve been custom quilting a sweet pansies applique with chain blocks around it for June B.  I wanted this one to look old-fashioned and very sweet and feminine.  I also didn’t want it to have over the top quilting.  I think I succeeded on all parts
The curved diamonds in the white areas were achieved with  QP Curve templates from The Quilted Pineapple by Linda Hrcka. The swags in the green outer border were achieved with the Mystical Arc template by Jamie Wallen at Quilters Apothecary.

On the computer-assisted side I had a Double Wedding Ring done in reproduction 1930’s fabrics.  This one was made by a loving grandmother who is going to save it for a special day for  her granddaughter.  It is king size and I know it will be cherished.  I quilted it with lots of hearts – perfect for a wedding quilt.

Turning quilt tops into quilts – matching the quilting to the personality of the quilt – just makes me feel oh so good.
