I fall in love with Block of the Months and then sometimes they become Block of the Years and Years and Years. In fact, I have a few that I am going to offer for sale very soon as someone needs to make them into beautiful quilts.
This year I fell for Mystical Prism by Wing and a Prayer Design. Beautiful blues, aquas and purples. And I promised myself I would stay caught up with this one as a part of my sew every morning plan. And I have!!! Block Three came last week and it is all sewn up (all four of them). Instead of being a different block every month this program has us doing multiple identical blocks. So I have sewn two of Block One, two of Block Two, and four of Block Three.
In addition to being caught up I am striving for precise and accurate cutting and stitching. So far I’m pretty darn proud of my results.
And unbeknownst to each other, my college roomie and good friend Alice Lynn also is doing this one! Her start date was behind mine so I am staying a block ahead and can give her any tips.
I am getting my block kits through Wish Upon a Quilt. I met the owner, Cathy Phillips when I was in Montana three years ago for a Judy Neimeyer retreat. I have not yet been able to visit the shop in Raleigh but I order online. And the great thing is with every order I get a coupon for the next time I order. Check it out!!!
